Por American Organization of Teachers of Portuguese The Portuguese Language Journal (PLJ) was founded in 2006 to promote and improve the teaching of Portuguese as a world language. PLJ also aims to provide a venue to encourage collaboration, research, and exchange of ideas among Portuguese language instructors.PLJ invites the submission of original, unpublished manuscripts on Second Language Acquisition, Methodology of Foreign Languages Linguistics, Cultural Studies, Film Studies, Literary Criticism, Pedagogy, and also reviews of books, multimedia and other pedagogical material connected to the teaching and learning of Portuguese.PLJ is available to members of the AOTP – American Organization of Teachers of Portuguese in print and electronically. The AOTP is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization. It aims to enhance and promote the teaching of Portuguese in the United States and provide professional development to its members. The PLJ is a collaboration between the AOTP – American Organization of Teachers of Portuguese, the Center for Latin American Studies at the University of Florida, the Latin American and Iberian Institute at the University of New Mexico, and the Latin American and Caribbean Center at Florida International University.
