BIOQUIMICA E FARMACOTERAPIA: NA PRÁTICA CLÍNICA (2019)
Por J. ConstantinoBiochemical parameters are used as a key tool to predict patient’s health, while pharmacological therapy aims to improve disease physiopathology. Pharmacotherapy is capable of modifying biochemical parameters, whilst several altered biochemical mechanisms can result in significant pharmacotherapeutic modifications. Hence, biochemical parameters and drugs interrelate and influence each other. This article intends to systematize the information related to their interrelationship, emphasizing their relevance and meaning at a clinical level. Hepatic function (albumin, bilirubin, liver enzymes, total proteins and transaminases) and pharmacotherapy in patients with hepatic impairment are explored. In addition, renal function (summary analysis of urine, microalbuminuria, proteinuria, creatinine and urea) and pharmacotherapy in the patient with renal impairment are discussed. Finally, the ionogram (sodium, potassium, chloride), glucose and glycated hemoglobin are addressed in parallel with their correlation with drug therapy.
